The Teachers' Day celebration was held on 24th September 2024 with Chief Guest Dr. Poorva Keskar (Principal, SMEF's Brick School of Architecture Chairperson, IGBC Pune Chapter Director, VKe Environmental), along with Namrata Dhamankar (Director Sustain and Save Pvt Ltd, Professor - BNCA) and Hrishikesh Manjrekar (Executive Director Amar Builders, Co-Chair IGBC Pune Chapter) to honor the dedication and contributions of faculty members and to recognize the achievements of students.
The event included award distributions for faculty under the category of students nomination, award and achievement and contribution to research along with launch of the IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) student chapter, and the felicitation of students who excelled in various competitions.
Blood Donation Camp Organized by PCETs S.B.Patil college of Architecture & Design in association with Acharya Anand Rishi ji institute. The blood donation camp at SBPCOAD was a successful event, achieving its objectives of raising awareness and collecting valuable blood donations. The efforts of students, staff, and healthcare partners contributed to the success of the camp, underscoring the college’s commitment to community service.
On September 12, 2024, an urban precinct walk was conducted for fourth-year students as part of the Urban Studies subject at Pradhikaran. The purpose of the walk was to explore both the tangible and intangible aspects of the precinct, examining its transformation before, during, and after the implementation of planning and design.

We had the privilege to welcome Hon’ble Ar. Habeeb Khan, President of Council of Architecture as our Chief Guest of honor for this event. Our key note speakers for this seminar were Dr. Sanjeev Vidyarthi, Director, Master of City Design Program, Urban Planning & Policy at University of Illinois, Chicago, USA & Dr. Nik Theodore, Dept. Head, Urban Planning & Policy, Director, Centre for Urban Economic Development at University of Illinois, Chicago, USA.
This event briefly started where Respected Principal Sir Dr. Mahendra Sonawane welcomed & greeted our Hon’ble chief guests, our Respected Trustee members, Ar. Jayshree Deshpande, Ar. Mahesh Nampurkar, Ar. Prashant Deshmukh & Ar. Vasudha Gokhale, whose presence had graced this event.
We also welcomed our dear Respected Principal & fellow faculty members from other Architecture colleges of Pune who had attended this event.
All the guests of honor & trustee members inaugurated the Students Art Gallery on 3rd floor by cutting the ribbon.
Our entire 3rd floor area was renovated & enhanced by displaying various informative & architectural data on the walls, by wall painting done by our fellow students, by displaying the academic work of our students in the corridors, by displaying our dear Alumni that are now successfully placed in reputed firms and practicing architecture & by displaying NAAC, COA & Exam related information in the corridors.
All the above work was creatively & articulately designed & discussed by the respective faculty in charge of the particular wall with our respected Principal Sir, without whose guidance this wouldn’t be a success! All the faculty in charge did a commendable job of designing & completing their walls with the help of our dear students in this small crunch of time.
Our respected Principal Sir showed & explained every wall & its notion behind the design of every wall to our Guests Ar. Habeeb Khan, Dr. Sanjeev Vidyarthi & Dr. Nik Theodore very keenly. Dr. Satheesh Kumar, Head of Jaya school of Architecture, Chennai has a teaching experience of over 20 year. He has received Best Architect Award he received from the hands of Padmashree Dr. Annadurai, Director of ISRO. He has written multiple papers related to Environment, its parameters, issues and solutions. Till date he has presented around 19 papers at national and international conferences, has delivered 100+ talks with his professional expertise. He has also guided 8 PhD research scholars successfully. Dr. Satheesh was keenly involved in syllabus formation and structuring for Masters in Design and has introduced new courses for Bachelors in Architecture.

Brief:
Ar. Ravi Patwardhan, Partner at TF cube Design Studio, Pune has graduated with honors from VNIT, Nagpur and has completed Masters in Urban Design from SPA, New Delhi.
He is currently appointed as Professor and Design chair head at M.M. College of Architecture.
Ar. Ravi is an expert in Built environment analysis, formulation of Eco-housing certification norms and Climate Responsive Architecture.
He also has a vast professional experience in Urban Design, Eco-Housing, Community Planning, Hospital, Commercial and Industrial Designs.
He has presented his works in various Conferences & Seminars. He is also an author of article Vision 2016 published Times of India, Pune and has published essay on Concerns in high rise buildings.
TF cube design studio under his guidance was shortlisted for UNDP sponsored consultancy services to assist the climate change adaptation in the planning and design of buildings in Mauritius by Government of Mauritius.
Ar. Patwardhan was keenly involved forming assessment system for architecture design and thesis.
He has conducted multiple workshops on Rethinking the Architecture Pedagogy Studio with an aim to have an integrated approach to design across all years of architecture course.

BRIEF OF THE COMPETITION:
The challenge is to design a Co–Working commercial space for freelancing Architects, Studios for established firms & a Learning Centre for architecture students. The Competition aims to design a facility wherein students can work & learn along with the practicing professionals.
The aim is to design a facility dedicated to only architecture students & professionals with 40 studios of small & medium size design firms, working space for 60 students & 30 freelancing architects, a library ( digital + conventional ), a material lab, stationary, printing & model cutting provisions, an exhibition hall, indoor games room & two seminar halls with each having seating capacity of 150 people to hold any architectural event in the premises. Gardens, amphitheatre & other outdoor areas can also be added. (Lifts, Staircase & Common toilets). The Challenge is to design spaces that allows for interaction between students & professionals with an aim to create a one of its kind Architectural Design Community.
The major thought behind the competition is to design a facility where the design students & professionals work together encouraging design dialogue, interactive sessions, workshops etc & a new generation of Architects.
Our Fourth-year students Anjali Lokhande, Nimisha Chaudhary & Sunidhi Kasalkar participated in this competition and their panel was selected in top 50 winners worldwide.

UPDATES TILL NOW:
1. Proposal and poster of Computer Aided drawing Course was made on 29/11/2019 under the guidance of Dr. Mahendra Sonwane for academic 2019-20 year.
2. After approval of proposal, Notice of course was circulated in classes of 1st year students.
3. Computer Aided Drawing course was started in February till March, 2020.
4. Ar. Prerana Zende & Ar. Rajendra Sharma were appointed as course staff by Principal Dr. Mahendra Sonwane. For technical support Mr. Akshay More was appointed.
5. Students get knowledge and guidance of Computer Aided Drawing under this skill development course. Their CAD presentation techniques for 2D drafting get improved.
6. For this course 24 sessions were decided. Out of these 14 sessions were successfully conducted, but due to COVID – 19 remaining session will conduct after situation become new normal.
FUTURE PLANS AND LINE OF ACTION:
1. After this successful course college will going to plan another 3D presentational softwares i.e. Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper , etc in future.

Our college has been selected for round 1, where 65 students from our college participated in 2 days (16 hours) Workshop training on Building Construction on 13th & 14th August 2019. Workshop was conducted by Industry Expert Mr. Vivek Singh who has experience of more than 8 years to deliver the workshop in PAN India level.

This Executive Presence workshop presents the system, tactics, tools and measures to improve how you are perceived as a leader. This half-day session was highly interactive, and include small group work where participants video tape each other in those informal “around the conference table” scenarios where so much of the work gets done and executive presence is so vital. Then they collectively review their performances, critique and coach each other. It’s a content-rich, data-driven, peer-based learning environment that encourages risk-taking.

Effective Speaking workshop is designed to help students speak with greater accuracy and fluency by providing them with opportunities to talk about their own personal experiences and about familiar topics. Students will have opportunities to study and practice a number of lexical and grammatical items with support before being required to use them in tasks.
Students will also repeat these tasks at intervals over the semester to develop greater accuracy and fluency. In addition to these tasks, students will carry out shorter speaking activities that focus on 1) conversation development and 2) practical English.
The former will provide students with opportunities to practice a series of key questions and responses (follow-up questions and comments) that can be used to develop conversations. The latter focuses on a small number of essential functional items that will be useful for students when communicating with teachers and in many situations outside the program. Each of the goals below corresponds broadly with these three main course components.

BRIEF OF THE EVENT:
Dr. Priyadarshini Karve conducted a Guest Lecture for S.Y.B. Arch. Section A & B. Dr. Karve Madam explained various issues related to climate change and its necessity and how it can be done at individual level. She taught methods to calculate carbon footprint and also ways to reduce carbon footprint. Also she explained how waste can be reused at house hold level. And ways to minimize waste generation at household level. How byproducts of waste decomposition can be used was also said. As the building services syllabus includes waste disposal method and renewable building methods, the lecture was an of addition of knowledge in their building services application. Her lecture and guidance was of great knowledge gaining session for the students to be applied for building services application for the various architectural project.
Lecture was attended by 85 students from first and second year of architecture.

BRIEF OF THE EVENT:
S. B. Patil College of Architecture organized students skill Development Program for actively listening to soft skills under the guidance of Ms. Swati Lele.Active listening is a skill that can be acquired and developed with practice. 'Active listening' means, as its name suggests, actively listening. That is fully concentrating on what is being said rather than just passively 'hearing' the message of the speaker. This workshop was designed for students to understand how they develop listening skills and after understanding a topic they can ask questions on a particular topic.

BRIEF OF THE EVENT:
● On occasion of Marathi Divas our college S.B. Patil College Of Architecture & Design celebrate Marathi diwas for encouraging our mother tongue Marathi.
● As a part of the event, we started the event with मराठी प्रतिज्ञा in all classes.
● To make awareness regarding Marathi language our college students have conducted Marathi speech on any topic i.e. Maharashtrian Shivkalin Kille, Wada Sanskruti, Vastushilp,etc.
